What should be the national sentiment

Just got this mail as a forward from one of my friends..its exactly captures what we should feeling..
----------------------------------
After the blasts where we lost several People it’s the time to ponder why this happens only in INDIA again and again!! This article is not intentioned to hurt anybody's religious sentiments. With due respect to all religion it focuses on a national problem. Terrorism, shouldn’t be seen through the glass of any religion.
The undermentioned statement is the best possible answer for such ludicrous actions..... India Needs A Leader Like This!
Prime Minister John Howard - Australia
Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks. Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques.
Quote: 'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.' 'This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom'
'We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society . Learn the language!'
'Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.'
'We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.' 'This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.'
'If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.'

Maybe if we circulate this amongst ourselves, Indian citizens will find the backbone to start speaking and voicing the same truths.

I was almost there..

"Voh kise doshi thehraye, aur kisko dukh sunaye, jab ki mitti, saath mitti ke kare anyaye"....Harivansh Rai Bachchan.
I read these lines on Amitabh Bachchan's blog, and then so much of what he had written...echoing the pain and helplessness of millions of those Indians, worldwide, who saw Delhi being raped by hands of terrorists last Saturday.
I was there....in Karol Bagh, almost 3 hours prior to the blasts, checking out baby stuff, visiting my jeweller, and shopping for materinity wear. I reached Mom's house at around 4 PM, and at 6:30 heard about the blasts that shook and scared Delhi. 2 of them happened in GK1 market itself...I got calls/sms practically from everyone who knew that i stayed in GK. I was quite numb for many hours, not wanting to believe that i was close to the bomb site, not believing that life can be so precious, wiped out in seconds. Anger, despair, frustration and helplessness...why us, the common man...why dont they leave us alone...while i prepare to bring into this world, my next generation, there are many many of them whose generations, or hopes have been wiped out. How do these terroists answer their soul, what religion asks you to kill the unsuspecting innocent victims...why is it more depressing, that these wars are not being fought in battlefield, but in our every day homes, churning around intelligent terroists, who went to the same school, colleges, workplaces like you and me...why are we now looking at our neighbour with suspicion, why is one community made to suffer humiliation on account of acts of a few...so many whys and so few answers...Will Delhi rise above this? Will we go togther till the end of the tunnel, strongly, with more resilience, will we watch over our children so that they dont go astray...with prayers for peace, amity and unity, and in ode to those who lost their lives....

The Level 3 scan

Manish and i went to the sonographer yesterday, for what they call the Level 3 scan. It is suppose to show you all the facial details of the baby, you can take photographs and generally look at over all development of the baby. Now Baby Chowdhary is one helluva subborn bub. He/She conveniently turned breech, face down and bums up, and absolutely refused to have anyone of us have a good look at it. with much prodding and poking and requesing, he did show us one eye, half a nose, and what looked like a chubby cheek....my god, Manish and i cant get over the fact that this kid may have taken his cheeks after the mother! Blush blush ! I am always amazed at the extent that science has progressed. Back then, at our parents's time, none of this existed..and i wonder what mom-dad would be discussing, when we were inside them. The more we see, the more we want to see....how would ma-papa be discussing the average weight, fundal height, analysis on the blood supply etc etc...Its truly mind blowing. And then came the big question. Both Manish and i gathered are guts, and asked Dr Pandit on the gender of the child. we pleaded, cajoled, begged him to let us know...i even told him that if i didnt know, even he shouldnt know ! I mean thats not fair right...as parents, we should have the first right to know..not Dr Pandit who probably has no excitement to check out a poppee or peepee, as Manish puts it! But man, it would have been easier to sell a missile to Indian Army. This doctor did not budge. Infact, he filled us in with all the possible details, on why the govt considers sex determination illegal, how many documents he needs to submit to Civil Hospital because he is a sonographer, how surprised we will be to find out how many people actually try to coerce him into divulging so that they can get the female feutus aborted etc etc....and by the end of it, Manish and I were both subdued and lost.....well looks like Baby Chowdhary is going to be a real surprise till the end, no clue on whether its a boy or girl, and no clue on what it would look like!

The running nose

Last two days have been from hell and back. Running nose, dry cough, body ache...and the tragedy of not being able to have any medicine at all...I do believe that i can live through almost all kind of discomfort and pain..but man, this allergic cold and cough really really kills me. I had this bout once in the 3rd month, and now..Strangely baby chowdhary is not moving much. I think he has gotten scared of mom's coughing and sneezing, since i seem to shake my entire body, with this little bub inside me toppling from one end to another :(
I have begun to notice that the baby's movements are sort-of related to my mood. If i am relaxed, happy, normal self, this chap is all excited...practicing kick boxing and gymnastics inside me. When i am upset, crying, or very low, then this chap is subdued, just reminds me every once in a while that he/she is inside me, but not really moving around that much...can Mother Nature actually "sync" these things, or is it what i want to believe.
My chotu was telling me that even the fruit vendor below our house has predited that i will have a boy ! Gawwddd its like the whole world on some satta thing betting the boy-girl thing !
